Al Jazeera's investigation, titled "Contract Killers and the Far Right" and released on October 20, 2026, alleges direct links between the British right-wing group Turning Point UK and Allan Nesbitt, a convicted violent criminal with alleged paramilitary ties who offered to arrange murders for money [1][7]. The investigation claims Turning Point UK's CEO, Jack Ross, facilitated contact and payments between Nesbitt and an undercover reporter [7].

These allegations suggest a potential connection between political activism and organized violence, raising concerns among law enforcement experts about a possible escalation in anti-migrant violence in the UK [7]. The report has been picked up by multiple news outlets, including UA.NEWS and The National [8][10].

## What the records show

Al Jazeera's investigation details that an undercover reporter began working with Turning Point UK in 2021 [7]. Jack Ross, the CEO of Turning Point UK, who has previously run as a Conservative Party candidate, introduced the undercover reporter to Allan Nesbitt [7]. Ross allegedly paid Nesbitt thousands of pounds on behalf of the Zimbabwean government to organize a fabricated political rally aimed at supporting the lifting of UK sanctions against Zimbabwe [7]. During these interactions, Ross reportedly described Nesbitt as a member of both "Patriots of Britain," identified as a far-right, anti-migrant group, and the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF), a proscribed Northern Irish loyalist paramilitary organization [7].

Al Jazeera's report further alleges that Ross, during a secretly recorded meeting, revealed Nesbitt's ability to arrange violent attacks for money through his UVF connections [7]. The investigation culminated in an undercover sting where reporters met with Nesbitt, who is from Glasgow, Scotland [7]. Nesbitt is described as a convicted violent criminal with multiple convictions, including two for violent knife attacks and drug possession [7][11]. The Daily Record reported on October 20, 2026, that Nesbitt was filmed boasting that he could "arrange whatever you need done" and detailing "grotesque knife attacks" [11]. Turning Point UK is characterized as a right-wing student movement that has organized and participated in anti-immigrant protests in the UK [6][7]. It is noted as an independent offshoot of the conservative group Turning Point USA [7]. The group has reportedly been publicly endorsed by senior politicians and former government ministers from the British Conservative Party, as well as leaders of Reform UK [7].

## What the subject has said publicly

Jack Ross of Turning Point UK has "denied our findings 'completely'," claiming that everything he said to the undercover reporter was not meant seriously [12].

## What we could not confirm

This reporting does not include independent verification of the alleged payments to Allan Nesbitt from the Zimbabwean government or whether these funds were received [7]. We could not confirm the current legal status of Allan Nesbitt following the Al Jazeera investigation [7][11]. The extent of any ongoing law enforcement investigations into these allegations is also not detailed in the provided information [7].
