An upcoming ITV 'Exposure' program, "Undercover: A Year in Reform," set to air October 18, 2026, has uncovered multiple Reform UK candidates and elected councillors making racist, Islamophobic, sexist, and violent remarks during an undercover investigation. The probe involved undercover reporters embedding with the party's operations throughout 2025 and 2026.

The revelations pressure Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, who previously pledged to "professionalise the party" and remove extremists from its ranks. This investigation follows earlier reports of racism and Islamophobia within the party, raising questions about its vetting processes and public conduct.

What the records show

Recordings show councillors Alan Feeney, Dean Miller, and Chris Whelan making various offensive comments. Alan Feeney was filmed stating his area had been "infested" with Asian families and suggesting their deportation to Pakistan. Dean Miller made racist remarks about Black children, calling them "animals," and claimed King Charles was Muslim. Miller later told ITV he was "heavily medicated at the time due to a chronic pain condition" and resigned from Reform UK. One male councillor was recorded saying, "if she was my daughter, it would still be bath night on a Thursday," when speaking about a female Reform candidate, and also expressed a desire to sexually assault another female candidate. Chris Whelan was filmed in conversations where a female colleague was discussed with crude remarks, and he also complained about his social media comments being moderated. Councillor Jamie Campbell was also filmed discussing speculation about a mosque being built in the area with Feeney and Whelan.
